3D printed titanium impeller just as good as casting, but available ten times faster

The oil and gas industry spends billions of euros on keeping the spare parts in the stock worldwide, it can drastically change the business model by replacing it with printing on demand. That is one of the conclusions of the Joint Innovation Project Oil and Gas. Additive Industries has printed one of these impellers for the pump of a fire extinguishing system on an oil rig.

Additive Industries secures 14M Euro funding to fuel further growth

3D metal printing equipment manufacturer Additive Industries announces a 14M investment from its shareholder Highlands Beheer, the parent company of the Wintermans family. Additive Industries plans to use the capital contribution for expansion of their product portfolio, the acceleration of its technological roadmap and strengthening of working capital. Additionally, Highlands acquired the shares owned by co-founder and CEO Daan Kersten, who will officially leave the company per June 30th 2020. Until a suitable successor is found, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Mark Vaes assumes the position of CEO. 

a BIG thank you to our customers

Amidst this extraordinary time where our thoughts first and foremost are with the people directly or indirectly affected by the Covid-19 virus, we want to thank all our customers for their trust and continued support. We are pleased to announce that last week a leading aerospace company in Southern California ordered three additional MetalFAB1 systems with an option to purchase 5 more systems before the end of 2020. This expansion of their metal powder bed fusion capacity to produce safety critical, highly loaded, high temperature parts replaces large castings.  Additionally, we received the order for a first MetalFAB1 system for a market leading turbocharger manufacturer in Europe. As you might know, the global Additive Industries team normally would celebrate together when we received these orders. This time we observed our social distancing policy and organized a distributed celebration. Cheers to the team and a BIG thank you to our customers for the confidence and continued expansion of the MetalFAB1 installed base for industrial production of high quality metal parts.
