Job mission

The Product Lifecycle Manager is responsible for the long-term profitable growth and marketing of the portfolio offering to target market segments by developing and managing it through all its life cycle phases according to market needs and product strategy.

The key aspects of the role are:

Portfolio Offering:

  • Manages existing products, new product launch, upgrades/updates and leads life cycle management process from phase-in to phase-out to ensure current and future market requirements are met
  • Owns the product road map and aligns it with the technology roadmap that is owned by the Technology Director. Is proactive about achieving the launch schedule and defines and oversees recovery plans as necessary
  • Owns the technical and market specification for the product and determines a product business plan that supports sustainable growth
  • Tracks and analyses product performance and trends in terms of volume and profitability
  • Defines product customer value proposition per customer segment

Profitability & Pricing

  • Responsible for product profitability and margin
  • Ensures correct pricing is applied for all countries, products/ accessories
  • Partners with the Sales team to deliver compelling quotes/offers to customers
  • Works closely with Finance to ensure full transparency on margins
  • Closely collaborates with Technology and Supply Chain management teams to bring products to market with a sustainable and effective supply chain
  • Develops and maintains a global reference price list appropriate to both internal product positioning strategy and competitor offerings

Reporting

The Product Lifecycle Manager reports to the Strategic Marketing Director.

Knowledge and experience

Education

  • Degree in a technology related field
  • MBA preferred but not necessary

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in a product lifecycle management environment
  • Prior experience of contributing to / participating in technology development projects would be an advantage
  • Experience in managing road maps, developing strategic plans, creating marketing campaigns, and launching products into the market
  • Experience in Additive Manufacturing would be desirable but not necessary
  • Commercial understanding and experienced in building viable business cases
  • Project management expertise
  • Combined problem-solving and effective prioritization capabilities
  • Effective communicator and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Systematic thinking, influencing and people development skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally
  • Fluency in English, any other language would be an advantage
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word etc.)
  • Sales experience would be desirable
