Job mission

Assure on time door-to-door supply of machines and components.

Schedule and organize shipments from and to customers, trade shows, intercompany and suppliers. Shipments range from small parcels to machinery, regional and global, adhering to ruling regulations and directives.

Responsibilities

Physical Distribution

  • Plan and coordinate distribution activities for customer shipments, incoming goods and trade shows
  • Maintain distribution records and monitor pending shipments.
  • Coordinate and prepare shipments for distribution with warehouse, operations, purchasing, sales, marketing and service.
  • Schedule, confirm and track shipments meeting customer expectations.
  • Analyse and resolve delivery issues in a timely fashion.
  • Work in compliance with national + international laws and regulations and maintain master data accordingly.
  • Actively assist in risk assessment and mitigation activities for transports.

Procurement

  • Oversee receiving, handling, packaging and storing of supplies in warehouses in close cooperation with external service providers.
  • Request, challenge and order best fitting transportation method assuring timely delivery against integral lowest cost.
  • Liaise and cooperate with e.g. external freight- and warehousing service providers, relevant government agencies and freight forwarders.
  • Host quarterly business reviews with service providers.

Improvements

  • Review and recommend improvements to current product distribution parameters.
  • Propose cost reduction initiatives while maintaining efficiencies.
  • Develop continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and customer service.

General

  • Provide assistances to supply chain, warehouse, sales, marketing and R&D teams when needed.
  • Stay up to date with changes in import/export rules & regulations and transport restrictions.

 Reporting

The Buyer - Transport & Logistics reports to the Operations Manager.

Knowledge and experience

  • Working experience in transport and logistics, preferably with high tech equipment and global footprint.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, German and/or French is a plus.
  • Bachelor degree (HBO) or equivalent experience.
  • Procurement skills eg. Nevi 1 or similar.
  • International trade training eg. Evofenedex or similar.
  • Export documents training eg. Evofenedex or similar.
  • Customs training eg Evofenedex or similar.
