Function description

Additive Industries is looking for a IT service manager to support the fast growth of Additive Industries with a strong IT infrastructure. In the last years Additive Industries has grown to an organization with approximately 100 workplaces worldwide and growing, with a Microsoft-based hybrid IT environment (Windows Server, Office365), our own development- and test servers (Windows, Linux) and a critical PLM application server.

As an IT Service Manager, you are responsible for the supply and demand management of IT. You monitor the performance and quality of the services around this domain provided by IT suppliers and are the point of contact for the organization. The IT Service Manager is tasked with translating the organization’s goals and plans into a scalable IT plan with a vision for future growth, flexibility and security with the user in a central position. Both from a system (IT infrastructure) and application (ERP) management perspective. These responsibilities should be executed based on a strong management- and security policy.

The IT Service Manager will ensure all hardware in the organization is well taken care of and will make sure all the applications are used to the fullest and important changes and projects are managed. Last but not least, the IT Service Manager will have a supporting role in implementing our systems at customer sites and the following integration of customer environments.

The most important ingredients for a successful fulfillment of the position are:

  • Linking pin (demand-supply) between business and IT, making an inventory of needs with regard to the service, discussing points for improvement, and recording this service within an SLA (systems and applications)
  • Responsible for the development of a long-term vision, plan and policies for management and security of the IT infrastructure, while keeping the international expansion and cloud strategy in mind
  • Making sure there is an optimal balance of performance, availability and flexibility of applications and the network
  • Proactive and customer focused attitude towards end-users
  • Maintaining the relationship between the internal organization and the IT suppliers
  • Ensuring that the agreed IT service level is met or improved
  • Managing the different SLAs
  • Preventing incidents by pre-emptive management and active monitoring in collaboration with the IT suppliers
  • Coordinate in solving (major) problems (escalation point)


The IT Service Manager reports to the CFO.

Knowledge and experience

Bachelor in an IT management related study.


  • Broad experience in IT system management (eg Windows servers, Office365, Hyper-V, VMWare)
  • Broad experience in IT networking (LAN/WAN/Cisco/VPN) and cloud solutions
  • Experience in IT business processes and ERP applications (Microsoft Dynamics365 Business Central)
  • IT Vendor management skills (negotiation/assertiveness)
  • Strong in communication, pro-active and stress resistant.
  • You do not have a 9-to-5 mentality
  • Experience in an international environment is preferred
  • Customer focussed with strong communication skills
  • Strong in Dutch and English in both speaking and writing
