Function Description

As part of the process and application development team, the field application engineer will be required to spend extended periods of time at customer locations around the world. Additive Industries is committed to enable users to achieve lowest unit part cost, with the highest quality requirements. The field application engineer will assist customers on-site during the ramp-up phase once a system has been installed at the customer manufacturing location with the ultimate goal of helping customers to achieve the requirements for their high-tech components. The main responsibilities are:

• Prepare and execute customized site acceptance tests
• Provide support to the customers with setting up the MetalFAB1 for printing
• Evaluate, diagnose and resolve system problems together with the Customer Lifecycle Support team
• Provide general training to customers’ operators and technicians
• Provide support to the customers with Process and Application Development
• Provide support to the customers with preparing print jobs (Netfabb and Magics)
• Prepare and provide trainings on several Process and Application development topics

Reporting Line

The Field Application Engineer reports to the Manager Process & Application Development

Knowledge & Experience

Education:

• Bachelor or Master in Material Science, Physics or Mechanical Engineering

Experience/skills:

• Analytically strong and systematic problem-solving mentality
• Experience with CAD software
• Experience with Additive Manufacturing and build preparation is a plus
• Pragmatic and hands-on mentality
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Team player able to relate well with people
• Willingness to stay at customer site (abroad) for approximately 3-4 months per year in assignments that can span from 2-4 weeks.
