Function description

Additive Industries is growing fast since its metal additive manufacturing system MetalFAB1 is well received in the market. This yields opportunities for further improvement of the current system and the development of new products. In the position of Sr. Project Manager you are responsible to improve the organization’s project portfolio management by expanding project management practices and letting other project managers grow. You will also successfully execute strategic, multidisciplinary product development and / or customer specific projects from initiation till completion.

As a Sr. Project Manager you are hands-on and build, motivate and coach other project managers to ensure project goals are achieved within the agreed scope, timing and budget definition. Together with your team, you maintain the complete overview of the project portfolio. You report progress to the management team, and escalate where needed and celebrate whenever possible. Furthermore, the Sr. Project Manager is responsible for project management quality, the development of best project management practices and the personal development of other Project Manager(s).

As a Sr. Project Manager you also execute technology development projects. You will be responsible for the successful execution of innovative development projects containing both hardware and software. Fully meeting the quality, performance, budgetary and schedule expectations of the customer.

For customer specific projects you will be responsible to put together an attractive proposal for our (potential) customer with a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled experts. When the contract has been awarded you will be responsible for the execution of the contract. You manage expectations of your (internal and external) customers well.

You initiate projects by defining the goal, deliverables, planning and team based on the user requirements. Throughout the process, you constantly monitor and control planning, costs, resources, quality of the deliverables and project risks and report these on a regular basis. You are hands-on and oversee that all deliverables are well documented and milestones are thoroughly prepared.


The Sr. Project Manager will report to the CEO.

 Knowledge and experience


Bachelor or Master degree with technical affinity.


  • 7-10 years of experience in managing execution of highly complex and demanding product development projects (preferably in the high tech industry)
  • Successfully managed multiple projects at the same time
  • Inspires and motivates team members to collaborate well and to get the best results within the project constraints.
  • Ability to manage the process from a relatively vague to a well-defined project
  • Familiar with the V-model and Product Creation Process – ideally from Product and Process Development side
  • Ability to connect various disciplines throughout the company. Exceeding in informal leadership and stakeholder management
  • Excellent pro-active communication and presentation skills (verbally as well as written) and customer focused attitude
  • Works well in a developing and growing organization where processes are maturing.
  • Work with and travel to customers all over the world or development partners as needed for project definition or execution
  • Solid understanding of project, portfolio and change management methodologies
  • Experience in building and developing teams, coaching/mentoring and evaluating the performance of team members
