Job mission

The number of systems installed in the USA is increasing and is expected to grow further in the near future. To reduce the response time to our customers in this region we are looking for a Service and Support Engineer, based in Southern California, Hermosa Beach to join the Additive Industries’ Customer Lifecycle Support team. This multidisciplinary team is responsible for all service and support activities within Additive Industries, for the complete product lifecycle. The Service and Support Engineer is an important interface between the customer and the Additive Industries research and development, marketing and sales teams and possesses excellent customer relations skills. This position reports to the North American CLS Manager based in Camarillo, CA.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide on-site troubleshooting and support for preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Provide technical remote support for customers
  • Organize and execute successful installations at customer site resulting in final acceptance
  • Provide general training to customers’ operators and technicians
  • Work seamlessly with 2nd line support and engineering teams to resolve escalations
  • Execute condition monitoring, evaluate, diagnose and resolve problems
  • Install and monitor remote support tools and issue tracking processes
  • Maintains service records and documentation as required by Additive Industries
  • Track and maintain service tools, inventory and spare parts where required

Knowledge and experience


The ideal candidate will possess a BSc in a science field or have at least 3 years related technical or vocational experience.

Work experience

  • Experience servicing high tech systems desired using tools and diagnostic instruments
  • Basic knowledge of control technology, electrical systems and optics
  • Experience using Windows and remote assistance tools
  • Familiar with the terms FAT, SAT, design for testability, assembly and serviceability
  • Proven skills in information retrieval, analytical thinking and troubleshooting
  • Experience and discipline to write technical reports on a daily basis to various stakeholders in the organization
  • Practical experience in providing training to end-users


  • Due to ITAR requirements only US persons will be considered.
  • Have a valid drivers license and passport
  • Be able to travel 50% of the time
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to work independently and cope with ambiguity and pressure
  • Excellent social, written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercial acumen
