With substantially improved reproducibility, productivity, and flexibility, Additive Industries redefines the business case for additive manufacturing applications in aerospace, automotive, medical technology and high-tech equipment.

Function description
Additive Industries is looking for an AM Process Engineer to join the Additive Industries Process & Application Development team in our new UK facility. To support our customers, we develop the build process parameters for various materials, develop new applications specific to customers’ requirements and provide solutions for process simulation and monitoring.

Additive Industries successfully launched their industrial metal Additive Manufacturing system, the MetalFAB1. To support our customers, we develop the process parameters for different materials and new applications, and provide solutions for simulation and process monitoring of the printing process. You are part of a team responsible for the development of stable print process parameters for a number of materials.

As part of our Process & Application Development team you will contribute to process development and the evaluation of the test specimens based on material characteristics and geometrical accuracy. You will operate the MetalFAB1 system to produce test samples and demo parts, then arrange post processing requirements as necessary and test the printed samples in accordance to the expected specifications.

You will analyse the resulting test data, and document all performed tests in a test report, paying an active role in proposing the next steps of any required development activity and contributing to customer feedback and presentations. Furthermore you will discuss possible improvements with our R&D team and help to implement these in our MetalFab1 system.

The ingredients for a successful performance are in sum:

  • Setting up test plans
  • Design test specimens and build layouts with CAD-tooling
  • Execution of process development and testing in a structured and precise manner
  • Operating MetalFAB1 machine to produce samples and products
  • Analyzing experimental results, data analysis and drafting conclusions
  • Documenting all test activities
