AM Process Engineer (Eindhoven, NL)
Additive Industries:
Additive Industries is accelerating industrial additive manufacturing by offering a modular 3D printing system and seamlessly integrated information platform to high-end and demanding industrial markets. With substantially improved reproducibility, productivity, and flexibility, Additive Industries redefines the business case for additive manufacturing applications in aerospace, automotive, energy and high-tech equipment.
Function Description:
Additive Industries is looking for an AM Process Engineer to join the Process & Material Development team in Eindhoven. In this team, you participate in the development of material processing sets for an advanced industrial 3D printer. Your challenge will be the development of the 3D printing process for specific materials on our systems.
Additive Industries successfully launched their industrial metal Additive Manufacturing system, the MetalFAB. To support our customers, we develop the printing process for different materials and new applications and provide solutions for simulation and process monitoring of the printing process. You will be responsible for the development of stable print process parameters for several materials.
Together with our Senior Process Engineers, you will set up a test plan for a specific material. You will define the tests for process development and the evaluation of the test specimens based on material characteristics and geometrical accuracy. You will execute your test plan by operating the 3D metal printer to print samples, and test the printed samples in accordance to the expected specifications.
You will analyze the resulting test data, and document all performed tests in a test report. Based on the result of the tests you will propose new tests that lead to a robust process parameter set. Furthermore you will discuss possible improvements with our R&D team and help to implement these in our MetalFab system.
You will be responsible for:
- Setting up test plans.
- Designing test specimens with CAD-tooling.
- Execution of process development and testing in a structured and precise manner.
- Operating the 3D metal printer to print samples and products.
- Analyzing experimental results, data analysis and drafting conclusions.
- Documenting all test activities.
- Operating lab equipment according to test standards and delivery of high quality test results.
